On the 14th December, 2018, the people of Asang Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, rolled out the drums for the 2018 ANADA DAY CELEBRATION, under the aegis of Asang Nsit Area Development Association (ANADA). It was a day prominent sons and daughters of Asang Nsit, men, women, the youth and even children, politicians from different political parties, members of the clergy, the traditional rulers and professionals from the community turned out in their numbers at Asang Community Hall, the International Secretariat of ANADA, to celebrate their achievements as a people.
During the occasion, notable individuals were honoured for their personal achievements and contributions to Asang Nsit Community. Some of these were post humous awards.
Those honoured at the ceremony were

 

  • Brigadier General Wellington Bassey
  • Arch Bishop Brian Usanga
  • Engineer Ita Elijah
  • Prof A.J.A. Esen
  • Major General Paul J.Isang (Rtd)
  • Major General David D. Enetie (Rtd)

During the ceremony, sixteen members of the Community being the first batch of beneficiaries of Ifiok Ye Uforo Foundation Empowerment Programme were presented with cheques for amounts ranging from #30,0000 to #100,000. The beneficiaries included men, women and the youth. The Chancellor, Prince Ime Obot, while advising the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money, gave the assurance that more beneficiaries will be accommodated in the programme as the Foundation gets more funds. Consequently, he appealed for more donations to support the work of the Foundation.

While noting with satisfaction that the celebration was the last major activity of the Association for the year and that other scheduled activities had been successfully executed, the Crown Council rolled out the activities for 2019 and enjoined the people to continue to participate massively in future activities and programmes of the Association.
